Term 3 Week 9

This week for maths we learnt about compass bearings and how to find them. We also learnt about locus/loci. Compass bearings are like North, South, East, West, North West, North East, South West and South west. We learnt how to find degrees with compass bearings. I have finished all my maths and my reading task. My reading task is called 'Raymond's Run'.We had to write about setting, conflict, flat characters, round characters, antagonists, protagonists and theme. In writing at the moment we are writing poems. My poem is called 'A prayer for the 21st Century'. It is about what I imagine it will be like when I am old, like 90. This is my poem:

-=A prayer for the 21st Century=-
May the road be free for
the journey,
May it guide us where it promise
it would,
May the sky that holds lots
of memories,
Be remembered, be clearly
understood.
May every bird fly peacefully
May every disease be cured,
May sailors in crossing the
ocean,
Not fear the injured or dead.

May wildlife increase by millions,
May nature never be tamed,
May risks be taken upon humans,
May danger never be feared.
May the darkness stand to remind us,
Of what it means to be dead,
May we be outlived by our loved ones,
May we be outlived by our friends.

May the bombs rust away in the bunkers,
And war be declared no more,
May the scientists inventing happiness,
Be encouraged to get it done.
May the knife never be used,
May the bullet be taken out of the gun,
May those who live on the streets,
Turn into those in the sun.
- Jared

We got an copy of a poem like this written by John Marsden, who is an excellent author. I wrote most of this on my own, except I borrowed a few lines for it to make sense.
