Term 3 Week 8

All week I have been busy doing my maths and reading tasks. I have done 790 words in my reading, and have finished nine learning intentions. We are learning geometry at the moment, and I didn't know anything about it, as my primary school didn't teach me it. At the start of the week I knew nothing about geometry and was kind of just sitting back and watching the teacher write up examples on the whiteboard to help us, but now I am one of the only ones who have finished all the highlighted work! We have been learning about how many sides polygons have, and finding out the missing pronumeral ( the little numbers ) and lots of other things that would take to long to tell you all about. Here is one of my Learning Reflections:

In this lesson of maths I learnt about angles in a polygon. E.g: A five sided shape is a pentagon. Pentagons have three triangles inside them, so they equal 540°, because a full triangle is 180°, and 180 x 3 = 540. You add all the numbers that are shown. You subtract that sum from 540 and that is your answer. If there were more than one letter you would divide your answer by however many letters there are. The rule is n-2=180, because if n was how many sides, you take away two and multiply by what the number you took two away from.
