Term 2 Week1
This week was the first week of term 2. We had the softball semi-finals. It was rooms 5v4 and us (Room 3) v13. We unfortunately lost 10-8 which was our first loss of the season. Room 13 won in the final against room 5. On Tuesday we had tech arts. We are making clay jandals. This week we glazed them and my jandal is blue. We have also started a new artwork about our family and kiwiana. On Wednesday we had softball. We were playing for third and fourth. We (Room 3) were playing against room 4. I played and I hit some home runs. It was a pretty close game, and heading into our 3rd innings it was 9-9. We got ten more home runs, so it was 19-9 heading into room 4's 3rd innings. They only got four more home runs so we won 19-13. On Thursday we had school singing and my house (Waipa) won the point. On Friday morning we had an Anzac service in the hall. People talked about war, and Mr Oliver talked about his grandfathers who were in war. After that the head students lay a wreath against the flagpole. The last post was played and we all watched silently.

Wellington Camp
Sunday
Last week room 3 went to Wellington from Sunday to Friday. In the morning we started loading our stuff on to the bus at about 8:45 am. After we said goodbye to our families we set off to Wellington. Most of us had a device to take on the bus with us, and those who didn't shared with the people beside them. It was a long time on the bus but we had toilet stops and we stopped for lunch as well.
When we got to our camp site it was about 5:30 pm. When we got out of the bus we unloaded our stuff and then went to find our cabins. I was in cabin number 85. Once we had unpacked our stuff we went on this big trampoline thing called the jumping pillow. It was really cool and fun even though it was wet. A few people got really dirty and wet because there was sand around it. They had to have an early shower.

Snorkeling
Snorkeling was at Island Bay. I was in a group with Hayden and Mr Ranby. We went quite far out and saw heaps of big blue and silver fish. There were lots of small fish too. In the seaweed there were heaps of starfish. After we did snorkeling we went to the aquarium. There were heaps of starfish and fish. You were even allowed to pick up the starfish and kina. There were also turtles, seahorses, paua, an octopus and more.
Zoo
The zoo had heaps of cool animals and creatures. My favourite animal was the Gibbon. We saw Red Pandas, Gibbons, Bears, Tigers and much more. At the souvenir shop I got a baby chimpanzee, a bookmark and a Wellington Zoo band. I enjoyed it and would like to go there again and see more animals.
Parliament
When we got to parliament we saw Judith Collins walking inside. We went into a room to learn more about parliament. We watched a slideshow thing about parliament and what all the MP's do and how many hours a week they work. Then Barbara Kuriger came and talked to us. After that we went into the bit I enjoyed the most: listening to question time. All the MP's were talking over each other and some were even playing on their phones!
